Local Clubmaker James Holley Earns Distinction of GCA Professional Clubmaker

March 31, 2007

AUSTIN, TX – James Holley of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, has been named a GCA Professional Clubmaker after having completed the guidelines set by the Golf Clubmakers Association (GCA).  The accreditation procedure was developed in order to allow independent clubmakers to prove their skills and knowledge in golf clubmaking, club repair and clubfitting.

Holley not only passed the comprehensive GCA Accreditation Test, but has also completed training in an intermediate level clubmaking training program at the GCA’s approved training location in Austin, Texas.  The purpose of the test is to affirm the skills of independent golf clubmakers and to prove excellence in the business and art of golf clubmaking.  Clubmaker training includes a hands-on course in basic clubmaking, club repair, and clubfitting.  The GCA’s sole purpose is to identify professional clubmakers as the prominent source for quality golf equipment.

The GCA, directed and managed by Golfsmith International, Inc. is located in Austin, Texas and is the largest organization of independent golf clubmakers in the world.  Founded in 1980, it presently has a total membership of more than 15,000 clubmakers worldwide.

Having met the requirements of the 2nd of three levels of GCA accreditation, Holley is among the elite group of clubmakers worldwide who have earned recognition by the GCA.  Holley has been clubmaking for 3 years, and may be contacted at (615) 308-3359 (or email holleysstix@comcast.net) for more information.
